Commecial Complex Project Receives Grant

Great news! Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc received a $3 million grant from Indigenous Services Canada through the Community Opportunity Readiness Fund – Priorities Framework for the Commercial Complex Project. This project was one of only a handful of economic development infrastructure projects approved from a sea of national applications.

The grant will be utilized to accelerate the project and will cover 40% of the total project budget and two-thirds of future costs. This enables us to do more sooner. The funds are targeted toward construction with a small portion allocated to development management. It will take us one giant step forward toward being ready for the next phase of the project.

The Commercial Complex is home to Sweláps Market (our new grocery store) opening in Fall 2023. It will also include a Petro-Canada with quick-serve restaurant and two other retail-commercial buildings. It will be 100% TteS-owned and managed.

The Project is being led by the Business and Economic Development Department with support from VisionQuest Advisors for project management. Please stay tuned to the project website for news and for leasing and tenant inquiries.
